Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they added.
Officers then discovered multiple other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials say initial examinations suggest the substance was probably human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; authorities are currently not aware of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for information.
An important official stated the incident made him without words and had to be addressed promptly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, referring to the murder of nine victims by a gunman focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
